Answering our primal instincts

As a species, we spent millions of years roaming the wild. In our tribes, we hunted, foraged and gathered in the wilderness. It’s the habitat our bodies evolved in.

Now, we spend most of our day inside, confined to office chairs and sofas.

In terms of what we see with our eyes, it’s not mountains, rivers and trees, it’s tv, phone and computer screens.

I’ve never really taken the time to think about why I feel so good when I’m out in the wilderness, but it becomes apparent when I consider where we’ve come from.

Our environment today is a relatively new one in comparison with our past.

If you want to start feeling better, mentally and physically, start spending more time in the environment we evolved in.

The outdoors!
