Finding Fulfilling Work

Like many people, at the age of 18 I had to choose a degree to pursue. I had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do as a career, but feeling pressure to make a decision, I chose Mechanical Engineering. I should’ve noticed the signs throughout my five years at University – I was never interested in any of the course work. Somehow, I ended up with a Masters Degree.

Now what? Society deems success as those in good companies, making good money, and demonstrating it through materialistic possessions. With that in mind, I started working for a Fortune 500 company and tirelessly worked for promotions and pay rises.

Seven years later, stressed and unfulfilled, I decided that what society deems as success does not align with my vision of success! And with that, I became a corporate dropout. With no idea what I want to do next, I’m now out of work, living off savings, and pursuing more fulfilling work – below is a diary of my journey!
